Modelling & Analysis (SMA)
Survey the customer's site to establish baseline engineering and
operational data.
Load
Rack Modeling
Model
loading and configuration data in DKI's proprietary software, Load
Rack Modeller, to analyse current performance and potential options
for improvement.
Gantry
Configuration Options
Combine
modelling output and engineering data to create appropriate
configuration options for improving site performance. |

Process Analysis
Survey and analyse current business processes to assess compatibility
with automated processes; assess opportunities for re-engineering.
Automation
Scope Definition
Outline
the scope of an automation project based on the optimum gantry configuration
and preferred level of automation; provide equipment lists and basic
layout drawings suitable for tender of project works.
Budget
Estimating
From
the client's perspective, estimate the total cost to the client
of the automation project, identifying the estimated cost of supply
and installation by a Main Contractor and allowances for work by
others.
Risk
Assessment
Assess
areas of potential risk to successful completion of the automation
project, and indicate potential risk management measures to eliminate
mitigate or transfer.
Cost
Benefit Analysis
Assess
the incremental levels of automation applicable to site operations;
for each level, estimate the cost to implement and analyse the
quantitative and qualitative benefits - cost, security, safety,
environment, quality. |

Reporting
Prepare
and print a detailed report on all components commissioned in the
SMA study; may be Modelling Report, Cost Benefit Analysis Report,
Automation Plan, or a combination of these.
Change
Management
Recommend
and facilitate change management and appropriate business process
re-engineering; promote buy-in of Customer staff with workshops
including "events" such as:
On-site briefings
Presentation of SMA study findings
Mini-workshops during design, implementation and acceptance testing
Assistance with Post Implementation Review
